All travelers benefit from a collective insurance policy by Europ Assistance Italia S.p.A.,
provided by Emma Villas and included in the final booking price, exclusively for the Rental Cancellation Expense Insurance coverage.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: INSURANCE POLICY AGAINST RENTAL CANCELLATION PENALTIES
The Insured may request the cancellation of the booked trip if one of the causes listed below occurs,
provided it is involuntary and unforeseeable at the time of booking, and prevents participation in the trip:
- Sudden illness or accidental injury of you and/or the travel participants;
- Death or hospitalization of you and/or the travel participants;
- Hiring or dismissal by the employer of you and/or the travel participants;
- Court summons for you or the travel participants;
Europ Assistance reimburses the Insured for the penalty contractually applied by the Tour Operator to the insured persons listed in the booking.
The reimbursement may never exceed €50,000.00 per booking.
Coverage is valid only if all participants listed in the same booking cancel; no pro-rata reimbursement will be issued under any circumstance.
EXCLUSIONS
Coverage excludes cancellations caused by:
- willful misconduct or gross negligence, except as stated in the specific coverages;
- floods, inundations, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, weather phenomena with the characteristics of natural disasters, nuclear transformations;
- war, strikes, revolutions, riots or civil commotions, looting, acts of terrorism and vandalism;
- epidemics or pandemics as declared by the World Health Organization, except for Covid-19;
- indirect consequences of the Covid-19 epidemic/pandemic;
- theft, robbery, or loss of identification and/or travel documents;

mental illnesses and psychiatric disorders in general, including organic cerebral syndromes, schizophrenic disorders, paranoid disorders,
manic-depressive disorders, and related consequences/complications;
- pregnancy or related pathological conditions if conception occurred before the booking date;
- injuries occurring before the trip was confirmed;
- chronic illnesses;
- pre-existing medical conditions;
- consequences and/or complications of injuries occurring before the trip confirmation;
- bankruptcy of the airline or the Tour Operator/Travel Agency/Accommodation Provider;
- deposits and/or down payments not supported by official penalty invoices;

failure to send the notification (as required in the "DUTIES OF THE INSURED IN THE EVENT OF A CLAIM" section) before the start date of
the trip/stay, except in cases of renunciation caused by death or hospitalization of at least 24 consecutive hours
(excluding Day Hospital and Emergency Room) of a family member;
DUTIES OF THE INSURED IN THE EVENT OF A CLAIM
In the event of a claim, the Insured must:
- Inform the organizer, travel agency, or carrier of the formal cancellation;

File a claim within no more than 5 days from when the cause of cancellation occurred,
and in any case before the start date of the trip if the 5-day period ends after the departure date.
Claims may be submitted via the portal https://sinistrionline.europassistance.it by following the instructions,
or directly at www.europassistance.it (Claims section), or via registered mail with return receipt to
Europ Assistance – Claims Office, Via del Mulino 4, 20057 Assago (MI), specifying the coverage under which the claim is filed,
and providing the following data:

full name, address, phone number;

europ Assistance policy number + booking reference number;

circumstances of the event;
-
date of the event;
-
location where the Insured or the persons causing the cancellation (family member, business partner) can be contacted;

If cancellation or modification is due to illness and/or injury, the declaration must specify:
-
start and end date of the condition;
-
type of condition;
Within 15 days from this declaration, the Insured must also provide Europ Assistance Italia S.p.A. with:
-
copy of the Europ Assistance policy;
-
original documents objectively proving the reason for cancellation/modification;
-
documentation proving the relationship between you and the person who caused the cancellation;
-
in case of illness or injury: medical certificate showing date of onset, diagnosis, and prescribed recovery days;
-
in case of hospitalization: certified copy of the medical record;
-
in case of death: death certificate;
-
booking form or equivalent document;
-
payment receipts (deposit, balance, penalty) for the trip or rental;
-
confirmation statement issued by the Organizer;
-
invoice for the penalty charged by the Operator and the Organizer;
-
travel documents (visas, etc.);
In case of cancellation due to Covid-19:
-
positive Covid-19 test results (swab and/or serological test);
-
hospital certificate if you were hospitalized for Covid-19;
Europ Assistance may subsequently request additional documentation necessary for claim settlement.
Failure to fulfill claim-related obligations may result in loss of the right to compensation under Article 1915 of the Italian Civil Code.
DEDUCTIBLE AND CRITERIA FOR DAMAGE SETTLEMENT
The Insured will be reimbursed the full penalty charged, up to the maximum limit provided by the contract with the trip Organizer or
indicated by the Tour Operator in its catalogues. In any case, reimbursement cannot exceed €50,000 per booking.
Coverage includes a 20% deductible on the penalty amount in cases of cancellation or modification for reasons other than hospitalization or death.
If the penalty exceeds the insured limit, the deductible is calculated on that limit.
The penalty refund will be calculated based on the percentages applicable on the date when the event occurred (Art. 1914 Civil Code).
Therefore, if the stay is cancelled after the event, any higher penalty will remain the responsibility of the insured person.
PROFESSIONAL SECRECY
The Insured releases all doctors involved in assessing the claim, who examined them before or after the event,
from professional confidentiality toward Europ Assistance.
EFFECTIVE DATE AND DURATION OF COVERAGE
The "Trip and Rental Cancellation" coverage takes effect at 12:00 AM on the date the stay or trip is booked and remains valid until the start date of the trip.
The start of the trip is defined as the moment of check-in at the booked accommodation.
The policy covers the booking holder and all other stay participants, provided their names are entered in the appropriate form.
It is recommended to complete this process as soon as possible after the booking is confirmed.
